I hope you are enjoying the beautiful spring weather today. I’m writing to share an article in the Boston Globe and thank you for supporting me and my dementia portrait project. I’m so grateful for your support. The project would not have made it this far without your help. “Portraits of Dementia” will be exhibited at The Umbrella Community Arts Center in Concord, MA from May 17th to June 14th. The opening is Friday May 17th from 5:30-7:30 and it would be great to see you if you can come by.
As you know, my goal is to challenge perceptions about what aging with Alzheimer’s and dementia looks like. To use empathy as means for connection and understanding. To tell story after story of these amazing humans so we truly see THEM not just their diagnosis.
Let me know what you think of the story.
I plan to keep working on this for quite some time so please keep referring folks to me who would like to participate and be a part of this important conversation!
Thank you again.
